Disable recording and sending of usage data by default.

During installation there was no option to disable this nor mention to it, I think that even though its anonymous it's something for the user to choose and not be forced to by default. Right now the only way of finding this is via the configuration under "Auto update" (which by the way has nothing to do with).

Hi,

it is being sent only during update, before doing it, it asks you if you want to send it or not (first time). It does not send anything before asking you.

It is also completely anon - it sends a set of numbers, no words included, and they are deleted after few weeks on our servers. There is no logging of any user details, no ip address or anything like that.

We are working on our future format, so we wanted to see what types of files are users compressing in real life, vs theoretically.

I see, thank you for the clarification it's good to know.

Usually I tend not to trust programs that have this feature and don't announce it explicitly, more if it's on by default.

we understand, thats why we made it so it sends only numbers, so there is nothing "damaging" sent in any case (and it can easily be seen), plus it asks before the first send, and if you answer no, it is checked to never send.

Data sent did change what we planned to include in our format, so it was very helpful.
